Minister of Finance Vahe Hovhannisyan on Friday received the newly appointed head of the European Union (EU) Delegation to Armenia, Ambassador Vassilis Maragos.
Lauding the current level of Armenia-EU cooperation, the minister expressed his willingness to join efforts to further strengthen, expand, and increase the productiveness of this cooperation.
During the meeting, Minister Hovhannisyan presented the economic situation of Armenia, as well as the short- and medium-term programs and tasks for assisting the Armenians forcibly displaced from Nagorno Karabakh. Ambassador Maragos, for his part, reaffirmed the EU's commitment to assist the respective programs of the Armenian government.
Also, the parties discussed matters related to increasing the effectiveness of the implementation of the Armenia-EU Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement, the EU budget support programs, future cooperation within the framework of the EU Economic and Investment Plan, and possible new directions.
