President of the Republic of Armenia Vahagn Khachaturyan congratulated Tigran Avinyan on the occasion of being elected the Mayor of Yerevan.
The address states:
"Congratulations on your election to the responsible position of the Mayor of Yerevan and wish you prolific and fruitful work.
The past elections of the Yerevan Council of Elders once again attested to the fact that Armenia has firmly stepped on the path of establishing democratic and particularly electoral institutions and is committed to the fundamental principles of democracy.
I am confident that your activities in the position of Mayor will have high regard to these principles and values, and will also be aimed at building and developing Yerevan, creating a decent, prosperous and comfortable environment for our citizens.
You and your team assume the high responsibility of leading the life of the capital in a difficult period for our country, when the primary duty of all of us is to face the external and internal challenges of Armenia and to address the issues of more than one hundred thousand of our compatriots forcibly displaced from Nagorno-Karabakh.
I am hopeful that under your leadership, the administration of Yerevan city will do its best to strengthen public solidarity, ensure an atmosphere of mutual trust in the capital, and guarantee the resolution of problems as well as consistent development of Yerevan city.
Dear Mr. Avinyan,
Congratulating again, I wish you a strong will to implement your program for the development of the capital and continued success for the benefit of the Republic of Armenia and our citizens."
