On October 11, Azerbaijan's Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov received Toivo Klaar, the EU's special representative in the South Caucasus.
According to the press release of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan, at the meeting, the parties exchanged views on the prospects of the draft peace treaty between Azerbaijan and Armenia, the issues of the regulation of relations between the two countries, and the current situation in the region.
Bayramov noted that Baku is interested in the positive outcome of the meetings held with the mediation of international partners, including the EU. He said that "a historic opportunity has been created to establish stability in the region". Bayramov told Toivo Klaar that the process of reintegration of the Armenian population of Nagorno-Karabakh is continuing and that the Armenians of Nagorno-Karabakh left voluntarily.
At the meeting, the parties also discussed other issues of mutual interest.
