Romania has also provided humanitarian assistance to Armenia to take care of the primary needs of our compatriots forcibly displaced from Nagorno-Karabakh in this emergency situation.
Among the cargoes from Bucharest are also medical supplies. The two cargo planes were welcomed in Yerevan by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Romania to Armenia Cornel Ionescu and Secretary General of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Armenia Ara Fidanyan. The ambassador expressed hope that this step will strengthen the ties between the two countries and peoples.
Cornel Ionescu (Ambassador of Romania to Armenia) - I think that this is the proof of very open and very close relations between our countries, our peoples. I hope it will be a very, very strong bridge for our relationship.
In the near future, we will transfer the citizens affected by the explosion in Stepanakert to Bucharest.
Once again, I'm glad to be here to show that people can be friends and help those in need.
