Recently, in Armenia, there has been talk about the need to stop broadcasting Russian channels in public multiplexes, taking into account the anti-Armenian content they spread. Referring to these calls, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, noted that the possible blocking of Russian TV channels in Armenia would contradict the main principle and slogan of the current Armenian authorities.
"This is another manifestation and result of the active work of the US Embassy in Yerevan, where 2 thousand employees are busy spreading disinformation and fake news. Previously, a number of Russian journalists had already appeared on the lists of bans from entering Armenia. To what extent the announcements about the blockade reflect the official position of Yerevan, they should be asked. Let Yerevan interpret this. But if such thoughts are circulating there, then I think they should take account of the fact that with those statements they are simply putting a cross on the democratic principles that were announced as a priority," said Zakharova.
