During the weekly briefing, commenting on the statements of the French Foreign Minister in Armenia, Maria Zakharova said:
"It is not France that should talk about obligations to regulate relations between countries. Yesterday, French Foreign Minister Catherine Colonna made many loud statements in Yerevan that Russia allegedly did not fulfill any obligations regarding the regulation of relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia.
It is not France that should be talking about commitments. Let me remind France that it was the sponsor and guarantor of the implementation of the Minsk agreements. What did we learn from Mr. Hollande? That they weren't going to implement them? If I were Catherine Colonna, I would prefer to remain silent about guarantees and obligations to regulate relations between other countries where France considers itself a mediator. It would be better if she first reported on the Minsk agreements. After all, it is a resolution of the UN Security Council," she said.
"It was Russia that stopped the bloodshed on November 9, 2020, agreed on a series of trilateral statements for 2020-2022, the so-called road map for the reconciliation of Yerevan and Baku. And in Prague and Brussels, they convinced the Armenian leadership to forget about the rights and security of the Armenians of Nagorno-Karabakh,” concluded Zakharova.
