To all those who will say that France was not active and reacted quite late, it is necessary to say that it is not true, France was more than anyone else, on the side of the Armenians. French Foreign Minister Catherine Colonna announced this in Yerevan.
"At the UN, we are and continue to be by Armenia's side at the highest levels in relations with Armenia and Azerbaijan, in relations with the USA within the framework of the mission in which Europe decided to send a mission. We are trying to create conditions that will make it possible to have a resolution program that will speak in favor of the Armenians of Nagorno-Karabakh and will enable people who want to return to their land to return in safe conditions. I also want to remind the role of UNESCO in preserving the values of Armenian culture in Nagorno-Karabakh," she said.
Colonna emphasized that France has been and remains a constant and reliable friend for Armenia, remains and will remain so. Regarding the observation that there is dissatisfaction in the sense that France's initiatives did not achieve the desired result, Colonna noted.
"I reminded, I listed everything we did, we were concerned, we tried to gather as many people as possible around the principles and values that we defend, but we could not gather enough forces, these efforts continue. We are thinking about how we can learn from the UN Security Council discussions that took place about 10 days ago, with a possible resolution in the future. I express myself carefully in choosing my words. We are trying to create a condition so that it is possible to adopt a resolution, we continue to work in that direction, in this respect our vision is the same, we can try to unite other members of the UN Security Council to it as well."
