French Foreign Minister Catherine Colonna has reached out to Josep Borrell, High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, with a proposal to enhance the EU mission in Armenia and bolster its mandate for increased effectiveness. She made this announcement following a meeting with Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan on October 3.
Colonna's proposal also includes the incorporation of Armenia into the European Peace Facility, similar to its implementation in Moldova. The objective is to ensure that the EU and its member states convey consistent and resolute signals concerning Armenia's territorial integrity. Colonna emphasized that any actions threatening Armenia's territorial integrity would result in a firm and unambiguous response. She expressed hope for support from other partners, particularly the United States.
