The RA NA President Alen Simonyan received the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Finland Kirsti Narinen on October 2.
The RA NA President, touching upon the forcibly displaced Armenians from Nagorno-Karabakh and the aspirations of Azerbaijan against our sovereignty, informed that minutes before the meeting, the armed forces of Azerbaijan opened fire from firearms at the vehicle transporting food for the personnel of the Armenian positions located in Kut village. “The actions of Azerbaijan are not limited to Nagorno-Karabakh, but extend to the sovereign territories of Armenia, a part of which remains under the control of Azerbaijan,” the RA NA President reminded.
In this context, the necessity to achieve lasting peace in the region was discussed. The Ambassador of Finland responded that Armenia’s democracy is overcoming a difficult path, and it needs the support of international partners in this matter. He added that the months-long blockade and the forced displacement of people from Nagorno-Karabakh is nonsense. In this context, the necessity of imposing sanctions on Azerbaijan by international courts was discussed.
