At the request of the World Health Organization, the Ministry of Health of Israel sent two doctors to Yerevan to assist the victims of the explosion of the fuel depot near Stepanakert on September 26. Israel's ambassador to Armenia, Joel Lion, announced this in his
X microblog (former Twitter).
One of the doctors, Yaron Shoham is the head of the burn department at Soroka Medical Center in Israel, and Adi Maisel Lotan is an expert in plastic and reconstructive surgery at Shaare Zedek Medical Center in Israel. They will join the group of international experts providing medical assistance to the victims of the explosion.
The explosion in the fuel depot caused extensive damage, resulting in many casualties and injuries. Many of the wounded have been transferred to Yerevan medical centers for treatment, and doctors from Israel will share their experience to help Armenian doctors.
In connection with this tragedy, the Israeli government has expressed its readiness to support the Armenian people. The mission of these two doctors testifies to Israel's commitment to humanitarian aid and support to the Armenian people.
