USAID Administrator Samantha Power arrived today in Baku, Azerbaijan. She will meet with President Ilham Aliyev to discuss the humanitarian situation in Nagorno-Karabakh and the importance of following through on commitments made by Azerbaijan in this regard. Administrator Power is joined by U.S. Department of State Acting Assistant Secretary for Europe and Eurasian Affairs Yuri Kim.
During her visit, the Administrator will also address the prospects for a durable and dignified peace between Azerbaijan and Armenia, based on mutual respect for each others’ territorial integrity and sovereignty.
