Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan arrived in Azerbaijan on a one-day visit on Monday. His plane landed at the Nakhijevan International Airport, where Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev met his Turkish counterpart at the airport.
Along with Turkish President Erdogan, a large Turkish delegation arrived in Nakhijevan, including Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, Defense Minister Yasar Güler, Head of the National Security Service Ibrahim Kalın, Turkish Energy and Natural Resources Minister Alpaslan Bayraktar, Minister of Environment, Urban Development and Climate Change Minister Mehmed Ozhasek, Minister of Trade Omer Bolat, Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloglu, Head of the Public Relations Department of the Office of the President of Turkey Fahrettin Altun, Chief Advisor to the President Akif Çağatay Kılıç, Spokesman of the ruling Justice and Development Party in Turkey Omer Çelik.
Earlier, the Communications Department of the Turkish President's Office announced that Erdogan and Aliyev will participate in the ceremony of laying the foundation stone of the Igdir-Nakhijevan gas pipeline and will open a military-industrial complex in Nakhijevan, on the border with Armenia.
According to news reports, during the Erdogan-Aliyev meeting, the bilateral relations between Turkey and Azerbaijan will be discussed, as well as they will exchange ideas on current issues of the regional and global agenda, first of all, on the Karabakh events.
