On September 25 , the RA NA President Alen Simonyan received the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Lithuania to Armenia Andrius Pulokas. Congratulating the Ambassador on assuming the powers, Alen Simonyan underscored the role of Lithuania as an important partner of Europe.
At the meeting agenda items regarding the Armenians of Nagorno-Karabakh were discussed, condemning the Azerbaijanis’ consecutive policy of ethnic cleansing. In this context, the Ambassador’s proposal of holding an inter-parliamentary discussion through video call was approved.
The RA NA President stressed that it’s time for taking concrete steps, underlining the necessity of imposing sanctions against Azerbaijan, reminding the statements of the international authoritative organizations, the calls of honouring the human rights and universal values remain unresponsive. He also added that the Republic of Armenia is faithful to the agenda of democracy, in this issue also expecting the active support of the international community.
