The US Embassy to Armenia warmly welcomes a congressional delegation led by Senator Gary Peters, a Democrat from Michigan, to Armenia.
During his visit to Armenia from September 22 to 25, Senator Peters will hold meetings with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, Speaker of the Armenian National Assembly Alen Simonyan, Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia Paruyr Hovhannisyan, and other stakeholders. The discussions will focus on Armenian-American relations and the repercussions of recent military operations in Nagorno-Karabakh by Azerbaijan. Senator Peters will also pay his respects at the Tsitsernakaberd Armenian Genocide Memorial Complex.
According to the US Embassy, Senator Peters will further travel to Syunik, where he will engage with local officials to address security and humanitarian challenges in the region.
