Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian engaged in discussions with his Russian counterpart, Sergei Lavrov, on a range of regional and bilateral matters, as reported by IRNA.
These meeting took place on Friday in New York, USA, during the annual session of the UN General Assembly.
The foreign affairs chiefs examined topics of mutual interest, including the ongoing developments in the South Caucasus region and Nagorno-Karabakh.
During the talks, Amir-Abdollahian emphasized the importance of finalizing a comprehensive, long-term document on cooperation between Tehran and Moscow.
Lavrov, in turn, expressed his desire to further enhance bilateral relations, particularly in the cultural and economic domains.
The two foreign ministers also discussed issues of mutual interest including the developments in the South Caucasus region and Nagorno-Karabakh.
