The residents of various communities of Nagorno-Karabakh could have a real opportunity to return to their homes, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said Friday.
“The situation remains extremely tense,” Pashinyan said, speaking about the situation in Nagorno-Karabakh. “The humanitarian crisis continues. We maintain permanent contact with our colleagues in Nagorno-Karabakh. As a result of the discussions we had this morning, we can record that nevertheless there are some hopes for a positive movement of the situation, this is the assessment of a number of our colleagues in Nagorno-Karabakh, which we share in some sense,” the PM said at the Cabinet meeting.
Elaborating on the hopes for positive developments, Pashinyan said, “The residents of communities in Nagorno-Karabakh, our compatriots, could get a real opportunity to return to their homes.”
The Prime Minister added that the situation is dynamic and the information could change at any moment.
Certain agreements have been reached on the supply of larger shipments of humanitarian aid to Nagorno-Karabakh on September 22, Pashinyan said.
“There are some hopes regarding the improvement of the humanitarian situation. It’s not ruled out that today larger batches of humanitarian aid would enter Nagorno-Karabakh,” PM Pashinyan said. There are certain agreements at this moment, he added. “But I can’t say for sure whether or not these agreements will start,” the PM said.
