Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan has met with Germany’s Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock on the margins of the UN General Assembly.
Mirzoyan and Baerbock discussed the situation in Nagorno-Karabakh, the Armenian foreign ministry said in a press release.
The Azerbaijani large-scale aggression against Nagorno-Karabakh after the nine-month blockade explicitly shows Baku’s intention to perpetrate ethnic cleansing in Nagorno-Karabakh, the Armenian FM said at the meeting. In this context, the imperative of international partners, including the EU and its member states taking urgent measures and restraining Azerbaijan’s maximalist and aggressive behavior through existing mechanisms was highlighted.
The imperative of preventing the crime in Nagorno-Karabakh, as well as addressing the rights and security of the people of Nagorno-Karabakh in the context of lasting peace in the region was emphasized.
Both sides underscored the inadmissibility of the use of force or the threat of force in solving issues.
