Andrey Krasov, first deputy chairman of the State Duma Defense Committee, said that Russian peacekeepers are in Nagorno-Karabakh to ensure the cessation of hostilities.
"In essence, they are a kind of human shield that provides stability and security for the people of this region. It was thanks to the actions of the peacekeepers that the bloodshed was stopped. Neither Armenia, nor Azerbaijan, nor Russia and Turkey need a war in this troubled region. These hostilities are an explosive situation that only benefits the West."
