Prosecutor General Anna Vardapetyan today received delegation headed by Deputy Minister of Justice of the Islamic Republic of Iran Askar Jalalian. Before addressing the issues on the agenda, Anna Vardapetyan informed her Iranian colleagues about the large-scale aggression unleashed by Azerbaijan against the people of Nagorno-Karabakh on the morning of September 19, emphasizing that Azerbaijan continues its Armenian-hating and genocidal policy.
The Prosecutor General emphasized that the civilian population and infrastructures are being targeted by the Azerbaijani armed forces, there are victims and wounded, including women and children.
In this context, the Prosecutor General of Armenia emphasized the centuries-old friendship between Armenia and Iran, emphasizing that Armenian-Iranian relations are being strengthened in the context of ensuring regional security.
The Deputy Minister of Justice of Iran noted that Iran is concerned about the current situation and emphasized that Iran's efforts are aimed at ensuring and strengthening peace in the region.
During the meeting, a number of issues on the agenda were discussed.
The delegation arrived in Armenia to participate in the inaugural session of the Committee on Armenian-Iranian Legal Affairs.
