On September 18, the Chair of the RA NA Standing Committee on Financial-Credit and Budgetary Affairs Gevorg Papoyan and NA Chief of Staff, Secretary General Davit Arakelyan received the delegation of the State Audit and the Public Revenue Office of North Macedonia.
Gevorg Papoyan and Davit Arakelyan highly appreciated the cooperation and underlined with satisfaction the fact that an opportunity is given for the exchange of experience through the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).
The Chair of the RA NA Standing Committee on Financial-Credit and Budgetary Affairs presented the personnel, the bodies, the main directions and spheres of the Parliament of the Republic of Armenia. Gevorg Papoyan detailed the oversight profile activities of 12 Standing Committees, noting that the Committee led by him carries out the complete oversight function in the budgetary sphere.
During the presentation, in the context of the NA oversight functions the Committee Chair highly assessed the activities of the Audit Chamber, the coordinated work of the two institutes and informed that the conclusion of the Audit Chamber helps the parliamentarians to evaluate the efficiency of the annual budget expenditures. The rapporteur also touched upon the activities of the Committee led by him and the peculiarities of the budget making process.
The representatives of the delegation of North Macedonia addressed questions to the parliamentarians of the Republic of Armenia, which referred to the amount of the annual budget, the discussions before making it and the consequences caused as a result of its approval or denial.
During the visit the guests also were in NA Museum, Session Hall and got familiarized with the facility conditions. They have also been at the memorials dedicated to the memory of the deceased of Kozern Cemetery and the victims of October 27 crime.
