Azerbaijan's Deputy Prime Minister Shahin Mustafayev and Iran's Minister of Roads and Urban Development Mehrdad Bazrpash had a telephone conversation during which they discussed the implementation of bilateral joint projects, IRNA reports.
Mustafayev presented to Bazrpash the progress on the projects of the Aghband bridge, the border checkpoint, and the Khudafarin dam. In this regard, Bazrpash emphasized that it was decided to form a delegation in the ministry, which will get to know the progress of the projects on the spot, and will try to eliminate the obstacles.
During the telephone conversation, the Iranian Minister, expressing support for the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan and the countries of the region, expressed his opposition to the interventions of foreign countries in the region. "We are sure that the problems of the region should be solved through neighboring countries, and the military presence of foreigners is dangerous for the region. Iran will use its neighborhood policy to eliminate the tension between Armenia and Azerbaijan," said Bazrpash.
He also spoke about the need to facilitate the entry of Iranian students to Azerbaijan. In his turn, Mustafaev emphasized that relations have developed after the bilateral meetings. He expressed hope that the misunderstandings between the two countries will be eliminated as soon as possible. Mustafayev invited the Iranian minister to visit Azerbaijan.
