The Declaration of Almaty is the international certificate of independence of the Republic of Armenia, Armenia's Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced this at the Parliament.
He said that an agreement was reached that Armenia and Azerbaijan recognize each other's territorial integrity and sovereignty based on the Almaty Declaration.
"Armenia took this decision in order to protect its territorial integrity, because in the situation when Azerbaijan attacks the territory of Armenia and occupies territories, and Armenia's allies are silent and do not respond, the Republic of Armenia was obliged to come to this agreement on October 6 - its own sovereignty and to record territorial integrity. Those who say that this is a wrong decision, they say that Armenia should not be a sovereign state," emphasized Nikol Pashinyan.
According to the Prime Minister, Armenia, Russia and Azerbaijan did not declare that the trilateral statement of November 9 is invalid.
"I declare that the trilateral statement of November 9 is in full force, because the trilateral statement of November 9 was signed decades after the Almaty declaration, therefore, any reference to the Almaty declaration cannot affect the trilateral declaration," he said. Pashinyan.
