Baku has not yet responded to the proposals of the Armenian side regarding the draft peace treaty between Armenia and Azerbaijan. Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan said that there is no agreement on the date and place of the next meeting of the trilateral working group of Deputy Prime Ministers on unblocking regional communications. Mher Grigoryan noted that some issues are discussed at the level of working contacts.
The Deputy Prime Minister also referred to the possibility of restoring the Yeraskh-Julfa-Meghri-Horadiz railway.
"No matter how we consider the issues of de-blockade as de-blockade issues, the overall background should naturally be favorable, because what is de-blockade if there is no stability and peace?
You know, eventually, de-blockade is also a peace process, and de-blockade will be possible or applicable in the background of peace.
In terms of infrastructure and connectivity, yes, there is a mutual understanding and seems to agree that it is a very positive solution for the region as a transport infrastructure, but of course there are many issues regarding its operation that still need to be finalized. Our agreement is primarily related to the infrastructure, that is, yes, having the infrastructure of the Yeraskhits-Horadiz railway is, I think, a very good solution for Armenia and in the region in general and to emphasize and increase Armenia's role in the region in terms of logistics, but there are many related issues that still do not have a final solution or a final agreement," he said.
