The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, during the weekly briefing, commenting on the French President's statement on intensifying mediation efforts and intensifying pressure on Azerbaijan in the Nagorno-Karabakh issue, noted that Moscow welcomes any initiative that does not contradict Russia's efforts to normalize relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia, which do not duplicate and, moreover, do not undermine those efforts.
At the same time, Zakharova emphasized that within the framework of mediation efforts, it is necessary for France to take into account the positions of both sides of the conflict, that is, both Armenia and Azerbaijan. “Without it, it is not worth expecting any progress in terms of resolving the already tense situation,” Zakharova emphasized.
