On August 29 Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Mnatsakan Safaryan received the delegation of the National Defense College of India (NDC), headed by the Commandant of the College Lieutenant General Sukriti Singh Dahiya. The Delegation, which comprised of high-ranking military and civilian representatives from India, France, Brazil, Sri Lanka, Nigeria and Mongolia arrived in Armenia within the framework of the NDC National Security and Strategic Studies course.
Mnatsakan Safaryan welcomed the visit of the Delegation to Armenia, emphasizing the dynamics of sectoral cooperation between the sides, and further proceeded with addressing a number of issues of Armenia’s foreign policy. Deputy Foreign presented the latest developments in the region as well as their consequences, the challenges faced by Armenia in pursuing its peace agenda in the region and the deteriorating humanitarian crisis, resulting from the illegal blockade of the Lachin Corridor by Azerbaijan, emphasizing the dire urgency of addressing, within an international mechanism, the issues of the rights and security of the people of Nagorno Karabakh, currently facing the threat of ethnic cleansing.
