440 people applied for asylum in the Republic of Armenia in January-June., 2023. The Migration and Citizenship Service of the Armenia's Ministry of Internal Affairs reports.
There are 2 citizens of Azerbaijan and 10 citizens of Turkey in the list of asylum seekers. The application of one of the citizens of Azerbaijan was terminated.
The application of 2 out of 10 Turkish citizens was terminated, 1 was rejected.
Out of 440 people, 156 applications were terminated, 55 were rejected, and 179 people received refugee status.
In the first half of the year 2023, the most Iraqi citizens sought asylum from Armenia: 131 people. In second place are the citizens of Ukraine, 115 people. The number of applicants from Russia is 18.
