On August 23, the President of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia Alen Simonyan received the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Poland to the Republic of Armenia Piotr Skwieciński.
The RA NA President congratulated the Ambassador on his arrival in Armenia, wishing him a fruitful activity. The active cooperation between the parliaments of Armenia and Poland was discussed at the meeting. Alen Simonyan referred to his official visit to Poland last month, assessing it as effective and important. Speaking of the interaction between the legislators, it was considered necessary to strengthen the interaction of the parliamentary delegations on international platforms, in particular, in sensitive issues for each other. The role and significance of the Armenian community in Poland was highlighted at the meeting.
The numerous security challenges existing in the region, the consequences of the Lachin Corridor crisis, as well as the bellicose statements of the Azerbaijani authorities and the continuous military provocations by their armed forces were discussed. In this context, Alen Simonyan attached great importance to the deployment of the EU Observation Mission in Armenia in terms of ensuring security and stability in the region.
