Russian air defenses shot down three Ukrainian drones in Moscow and its region, targeted in a sixth consecutive day of attacks, Russia said early Wednesday.
A drone “was neutralized by means of electronic warfare and, having lost control, collided with a building under construction in the Moscow City complex” without causing any casualties, said the Russian Ministry of Defense, accusing Kyiv to be behind the attack.
According to Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin, several windows of two five-story buildings were damaged, and emergency services are inspecting the perimeter, he said on his Telegram account. The Russian news agency RIA Novosti had earlier reported that an “explosion” had been heard in the business district of Moscow City, located in the west of the Russian capital, some 5 km from the Kremlin.
Two other devices were destroyed by air defense in the districts of Mojaysky, 12 km from the center of Moscow, as well as Khimki in the capital region, some 20 km northwest of the Kremlin, said the Ministry of Defense.
