Diplomatic contacts between our two countries are regular, but for 8 years no Belgian foreign minister had set foot on Armenian soil, and in fact it can be said that an eternity has passed and it was time to change the situation. This was announced by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Belgium, Hadja Lahbib, during a joint press conference after the meeting held at Armenia's Foreign Ministry.
"With great excitement, I paid tribute to the victims of the Armenian Genocide. It is the duty of all of us not to forget this tragic page of history, and it is our duty to do everything so that history does not repeat itself," said Hadja Lahbib.
The Belgian Foreign Minister considered the fact of having about 30,000 Armenians in Belgium "a great opportunity, luck".
She also highlighted the fact that the Kingdom of Belgium will soon open an Embassy in Armenia with her proposal. In this context, she emphasized that a number of Belgian companies have a desire to establish relations with Armenian companies.
