Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia Paruyr Hovhannisyan on Monday received French National Assembly member Didier Parakian, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia reports.
First, Hovhannisyan wished success to French Armenian Parakian for starting his French parliamentary mandate, and thanked him for his personal contribution during his long tenure as the deputy mayor of Marseille, France to the strengthening of Armenian-French friendship.
Subsequently, reference was made to the difficult humanitarian situation in Nagorno-Karabakh as a result of the months-long blockade of the Lachin corridor by Azerbaijan. The interlocutors stressed that the urgent meeting of the UN Security Council on August 16 also showed the awareness of the severe consequences of the humanitarian crisis for the people of Nagorno-Karabakh and the importance of reopening the Lachin corridor in accordance with the trilateral statement of November 9, 2020 and the February 22 and July 6 decisions by the International Court of Justice.
