Even after the emergency session of the UN Security Council, there is no change in the situation in the border area of Kornidzor. It is the 23rd day, 22 trucks with humanitarian aid are waiting to enter Nagorno-Karabakh.
It has already been the third ten days that nearly 400 tons of humanitarian aid is waiting under the hot sun for the opportunity to reach the people of Nagorno-Karabakh, here, near the Hagari Bridge, in the border area of Kornidzor village.
So far, it has been possible to keep the cargo from spoiling - the types of products, for the preservation of which a special thermal regime is necessary, are located in trucks with an automatic cooling system.
And the fact that there is a humanitarian crisis in Nagorno-Karabakh was also recorded at the August 16 session of the UN Security Council.
Vardan Sargsyan (representative of the humanitarian crisis management working group in Nagorno-Karabakh) - During this period, unfortunately, we witnessed attempts to politicize and unnecessarily manipulate this exclusively humanitarian initiative from the Azerbaijani side. In any case, as of now, the goods are still located in this border area of Kornidzor village and, unfortunately, their transportation to Nagorno-Karabakh is not yet possible.
As for the session held at the UN, in general, I think we can record that our international partners have a very good understanding and awareness of the deepening humanitarian crisis in Nagorno-Karabakh, which is actually growing into a humanitarian disaster. And in this regard, I think that the need for clear steps and actions by the international community is becoming more and more visible.
