Turkish ambassador to UN Sedat Önal said Turkey concerned by “Armenian efforts to exploit international bodies like UN SC to air "unsubstantiated" claims about the Lachin corridor” during a UN SC meeting commenced by the initiative of Armenia.
“Azerbaijan’s legitimate concerns must be taken into account and sovereign rights respected”, he said. He said Azerbaijan has previously aired concerns over “illegal use of Lachin corridor, made Aghdam available and made "sincere efforts" to negotiate with Nagorno-Karabakh Armenians “that has not been reciprocated”. “Turkey committed to normalization with Armenia and support peace talks with Azerbaijan” he concluded.
