A group of activists from Nagorno-Karabakh blocked the entrance to the location of Russian peacekeepers in Ivanyan since yesterday.
Artur Osipyan, member of the initiating group of the movement to unblock the Lachin Corridor, presented the details of the protest live on the Internet, stating that their demand is for the peacekeepers to fulfill their obligations.
During a telephone conversation with ‘Lurer’ Artur Osipyan presented the details of the incident with the Russian peacekeepers.
“They were putting pressure on us to drive over your car with an APC (armored personnel carrier - ed.). I sat in the car, I said: pass. Even now, they drive the armored personnel carrier to hit the back of the car. They also drove an Ural to hit that thing in the car. They have already opened the entrance.
Heavy equipment was removed for the second time. Our car was very light. We were not crowded enough to resist.
The goal is unblocking, but we are setting intermediate problems on how to achieve that unblocking. We want to reach the Hagari Bridge and raise our voices and raise our demands at the Hagari bridge,” he said.
Today the Russian peacekeeping forces took out heavy equipment to open the entrance closed by a passenger car. The peacekeepers then pushed the vehicle by force to open the entrance. Artur Osipyan called everyone to gather at Stepanakert's Revival Square at 7:00 p.m.
