Russian Defense minister Sergey Shoigu warned that Russia could change its decision not to use cluster munitions in the course of military operations in answer to the US supplying Ukraine with cluster bombs.
"Another humanitarian problem is related to the US decision to supply Kyiv with cluster munitions. The consequences of the use of such weapons for the civilian population are well known. US officials have repeatedly stated in the past that the use of cluster munitions is a war crime. Today, Washington and its accomplices are committing this crime in Ukraine. There is no condemnation from humanitarian organizations, as was expected. I would like to draw attention to the fact that we also have cluster munitions in service. Until now, for humanitarian reasons, we have refrained from using them. However, this decision may be reconsidered", Shoigu said.
Russia and China maintain communication between the two countries’ military at a high level and conduct joint land, naval and air drills, Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu said on Tuesday.
Shoigu thanked his Chinese counterpart for taking part in the Moscow security conference, noting that Li’s speech at the conference opening and the analysis of international situation "deserve closer attention".
