On August 11, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia Ararat Mirzoyan had a telephone conversation with Péter Szijjártó, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary.
Ararat Mirzoyan briefed on the details of the deepening humanitarian crisis in Nagorno-Karabakh resulting from the illegal blockade of the Lachin corridor by Azerbaijan. Minister Mirzoyan emphasized that since June 15, the 120,000 population of Nagorno-Karabakh has been under a total blockade, facing an acute shortage of food, medicine and other essential goods.
It was emphasized that the total blockade of the Lachin corridor also undermines the humanitarian activities of the ICRC in Nagorno-Karabakh.
Minister Mirzoyan emphasized that the settlement of the crisis requires clear assessments and steps corresponding to the situation on the ground, as well as joint efforts of all partners in order to restore movement in both directions along the Lachin corridor in accordance with the November 9, 2020 statement and the Orders of the International Court of Justice of February 22 and July 6, 2023.
