The organization of Azerbaijani political emigrants in Europe (AND) on August 6 held a protest action on the central square of Strasbourg - Kleber demanding freedom for political prisoners in Azerbaijan and an end to repression.
According to the leader of the AND movement Ganimat Zahid, "repressions in Azerbaijan do not stop". “Recently, there has been a new wave of repressions. Almost daily we receive information about calls to the police, detentions, arrests, about new potential candidates to be imprisoned on trumped-up charges” Zahid said.
Participants called for protests against repressions in Azerbaijan to be held in various European cities.
