Representatives of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) have visited Vagif Khachatryan, the 68-year-old Nagorno-Karabakh resident who was kidnapped by Azeri border guards during his ICRC-facilitated medical evacuation to Armenia on July 29.
“Our delegates again visited Vagif Khachatryan, who is arrested by Azerbaijan, on August 5 in Baku. The goal was to assess the conditions of storage, the state of health, all this was done according to the procedures,” ICRC Armenia communications manager Zara Amatuni told 'Lurer', adding that Khachatryan has contacted his family through a letter. Citing confidentiality, Amatuni did not disclose other information.
