There is a certain increase in the attention of the international community regarding the humanitarian process organized by Armenia’s Government in order to mitigate the deepening humanitarian crisis in Nagorno-Karabakh. Vardan Sargsyan, the representative of the humanitarian crisis management working group in Nagorno-Karabakh, mentioned this in an interview with ‘Lurer’.
He reminded that the UN representatives, visiting the Kornidzor border today, had the opportunity to make sure that the Lachin corridor remains closed despite Azerbaijan's statements, and the convoy loaded with humanitarian aid is stationary.
“We expect that similar visits, the increase of interest from the international community, the clear awareness of the catastrophic humanitarian situation in Nagorno-Karabakh, the resulting response, active steps and the necessary pressure on Azerbaijan will contribute to the opening of the Lachin Corridor and the release of the 120,000 people of Nagorno-Karabakh from the blockade,” he said.
Sargsyan noted that the steps towards achieving the main goal, that is, moving the luggage to Nagorno-Karabakh, are ongoing, and the discussions are also ongoing.
