"The German federal government supports EU efforts aimed at establishing lasting peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan", Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Germany said in response to the questions of the Hypress news agency.
The agency addressed two questions to the MFA. Was Germany present at the diplomats' visit, the purpose of which was to witness the blocking of the transportation of humanitarian cargo by Azerbaijan, and what actions did Berlin take in this regard?
"The Federal Government is in constant contact with the representatives of both Armenia and Azerbaijan in this process. The German Embassy in Yerevan is in continuous contact with the Armenian government and civil society, as well as with the EU mission in Armenia.
Regarding the humanitarian situation in Nagorno-Karabakh, the embassy regularly cooperates with the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), through which the largest volumes of involvement in humanitarian assistance for Nagorno-Karabakh fall to Germany.
Germany supports the decision of the International Court of Justice regarding the free movement of people and goods through the Lachin Corridor, by which the vital needs of the population of Nagorno-Karabakh must be guaranteed", stated the German Foreign Ministry.
