Today, on July 28, representatives of diplomatic corps and international organizations accredited in Armenia visited the border area of Kornidzor, Syunik province, where trucks carrying humanitarian aid have been standing still for several days.
They were accompanied by Armenia's Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Vahan Kostanyan and representatives of the Office of the Human Rights Defender, General Secretary Nina Pirumyan and Head of International Cooperation Department Anna Karapetyan.
They toured the area and monitored the border from a distance.
The deputy ministers of foreign affairs, healthcare, labor and social affairs and HRD staff provided general information about the situation to the representatives of accredited diplomatic missions and international structures in Armenia.
Anna Karapetyan presented the ongoing fact-finding activities carried out by the Defender regarding the issue. In addition, the HRD representative noted that the received information is regularly transferred to international organizations with a mandate to protect human rights, urging them to make necessary efforts to remove the blockade of the Lachin Corridor.
