EU observers monitor traffic on the road from Armenia to Lachin. In an interview with ‘Lurer’ the head of the EU mission in Armenia, Markus Ritter, said:
“This area of Armenia adjacent to Lachin Corridor is in our area of responsibility. We are here to observe what is happening. With our presence, we want to provide public visibility to this process. I can't say anything yet because nothing is happening. Like you, we are watching. Since the start of our observation mission, we have carried out observations, patrols along the Azerbaijani border and contact line. We also visit villages affected by the conflict and report the situation to Brussels. With these reports, we contribute to the peace process between Armenia and Azerbaijan, which is supported by the EU.”
