The ICRC is doing a tremendous job in very challenging circumstances on the ground, Toivo Klaar, EU Special Representative for the South Caucasus and the crisis in Georgia, tweeted.
“It is important that they are able to operate freely. The EU is taking their warnings seriously,” he added.
The International Committee of the Red Cross announced that despite persistent efforts, it is not currently able to bring humanitarian assistance to the civilian population through the Lachin corridor or through any other routes, including Aghdam. The organisation is calling on the relevant decision makers to allow the ICRC to resume its essential humanitarian operations in the area.
