Azerbaijani Foreign ministry referred to the International Committee of Red Cross (ICRC) statement on July 25, 2023. The Red Cross, in particular noted: “Despite persistent efforts, the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) is not currently able to bring humanitarian assistance to the civilian population through the Lachin corridor or through any other routes, including Aghdam", International Committee of Red Cross said in a statement. The organisation is calling on the relevant decision makers to allow the ICRC to resume its essential humanitarian operations in the area.
“Statements about the "tense humanitarian situation" in the region are a means of political manipulation and pressure”, Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry said in a press release on ICRC statement, which called on Armenia and Azerbaijan to "reach a humanitarian consensus".
The Azerbaijani Ministry of Foreign Affairs noted that the ministry took note of the statement of the ICRC on July 25 on the humanitarian situation in the region. At the end, Baku urged one of the largest international humanitarian organizations: “Important that ICRC complies with its humanitarian mandate and not abusing it for political purposes”.
