Turkey's Vice President Cevdet Yilmaz in an interview with A Haber TV channel denied rumors that Ankara was offered money in exchange for Sweden's agreement to join NATO.
"Turkey is a country that has chosen its own path and does its own work. In a very difficult period, our country has continued and will continue its successful work. Those rumors are speculation," he stressed.
Earlier, American journalist Seymour Hersh reported that US President Joe Biden provided a secret loan to Turkey in exchange for Sweden's agreement to join NATO. "Biden has promised that the International Monetary Fund will provide Turkey with the necessary loan in the amount of 11-13 billion dollars," the publicist wrote.
