The Annual Session of the OSCE PA was held in Vancouver, Canada, Armenian Parliament press office reports. During the press conference held on July 14, the Head of the National Assembly delegation in the structure Sargis Khandanyan, the members of the delegation Arthur Hovhannisyan, Maria Karapetyan and Lilit Minasyan presented details about the work of the session and answered the journalists’ questions.
Parallel to the plenary meeting, Committee meetings were held, the key issues of the Armenian agenda and aggressive actions of Azerbaijan were presented in different formats. The members of the Armenian delegation presented to their partners the situation and security challenges in the region, the consequences of the blockade of the Lachin Corridor, and highlighted the protection of the rights of the people of Artsakh.
The Parliamentary Assembly voted for the proposals of the Armenian delegation both in the Committees and in the plenary meeting. On the European platform, the delegates of a number of countries spoke in favor of Armenia and pointed out the anti-humanist and anti-Armenian actions of Azerbaijan.
The Assembly adopted the annual main document, the Vancouver Declaration, which calls on Azerbaijan to withdraw its troops from the Lachin Corridor, to ensure the free movement of people and goods through the corridor, and also touches upon the ongoing negotiations between Armenia and Azerbaijan, encouraging their continuation.
The Autumn Session of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly will take place in Yerevan.
