Reuters: Firefighters in southwestern Turkey battled to contain a wildfire near the tourist peninsula of Mugla on Wednesday (July 12).
The cause of the fire, which began around 3 pm (1200 GMT), remained unclear.
Footage from regional forestry management helicopters showed smoke billowing from the hills and Bambi buckets dropping water cannons to burning areas as the blaze spread through a forest in the sparsely populated area.
Officials said 615 personnel, 14 helicopters, and 11 planes were involved in tackling the blaze.
