The Russian Defense Ministry claimed on Monday that the previous day saw the Ukrainian army try to strike targets in the Crimea, Kaluga, and Rostov regions using S-200 missiles.
The ministry added on Telegram that the Russian military managed to destroy two missiles, while two were intercepted and reverted by the electromagnetic warfare (EW) system. It stressed that there was no material damage or human victims.
"The Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, General of the Army Valery Gerasimov, tasked the Main Intelligence Directorate Chief ... to organize systematic work to identify storage and preparation sites, as well as the starting positions of S-200 missiles and similar enemy strike weapons, and plan their preemptive fire defeat," the ministry noted.
