In late June and early July, the staff of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) again visited the Armenian prisoners of war (POWs) arrested in Azerbaijan and other detained persons, including the two recently arrested servicemen. Zara Amatuni, Communication and Prevention Program Manager of the ICRC Armenia office, told about this to 'Lurer'.
She noted that during these visits, individual meetings were held with these Armenian POWs, and they were given the opportunity to communicate with their families.
"According to its mandate, the ICRC during its visits evaluates the treatment of detainees and the conditions of detention, as well as contributes to the restoration or continuation of contacts with their families," Amatuni added.
