French Ambassador to Azerbaijan Anne Boillon was summoned to the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry, Azerbaijani media reported, citing diplomatic sources.
The ambassador was asked to clarify Emmanuel Macron's statements during a meeting with representatives of the Armenian community in Marseille that Paris is on the side of Nagorno-Karabakh and Armenia and will continue to put pressure on Ilham Aliyev.
"Official Baku may take appropriate steps at the diplomatic level," said the message of the Foreign Ministry of Azerbaijan.
