During the weekly briefing, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, answered the question of what role Russia played in the events of 2020.
“The role of Russia is documented in the relevant document, under which the signatures of the heads of both Armenia and Azerbaijan are placed, and this role cannot be doubted.
I have already answered such a question regarding the examination of the circumstances of the 44-day war in the previous briefing. I repeat once again that it is the internal affairs of Armenia, and all the questions that were addressed to Armenia’s Prime Minister were asked in the context of the internal investigation, debates, attempts to find the truth. If attempts are made to find some malicious intention of Russia, it is pure disinformation and can be answered with a quote from a document signed by Armenia and Azerbaijan. It was Russia and the President of Russia himself who stopped the bloodshed, and the Russian peacekeeping troops stationed in Karabakh ensure the ceasefire regime,” Zakharova stated.
